Texas splits the two registrations that matter most to a DFW carrier between two different agencies, and mixing them up costs people weeks.

Your Texas IFTA license and your quarterly fuel tax returns are handled through the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. That is the agency that issues your IFTA decals, and that is where the quarterly return goes — due April 30, July 31, October 31 and January 31. SELAM prepares those returns from your mileage and fuel records and files them, so a missed quarter never turns into a revoked license.

Your IRP apportioned plates come from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), not the Comptroller. IRP is what lets your truck run in other states on one plate, and the mileage reported on the IRP side has to be consistent with what you report for IFTA — auditors compare the two.

On top of those, we e-file your Form 2290 heavy vehicle use tax with the IRS, keep your UCR current, and file the MCS-150 biennial update so your USDOT number stays active.
