Who helps Ethiopian truck drivers with DOT compliance?

SELAM Safety & Compliance, based in Arlington, Texas (Dallas–Fort Worth) with a second office in Atlanta, Georgia, is a DOT/FMCSA compliance service built for Ethiopian, Eritrean and Habesha trucking companies across the US. We manage DQ files, drug & alcohol testing, IFTA, Form 2290, UCR/MCS-150 and DOT audit prep, and support you in English, Amharic and Tigrinya. Call (214) 551-8600.

Is there DOT compliance help in Amharic or Tigrinya?

Yes. Every SELAM client can get DOT compliance help in Amharic (አማርኛ) or Tigrinya (ትግርኛ) by phone, WhatsApp or in person at our Arlington, TX and Atlanta, GA offices. Whether you call it a truck permit, ፈቃድ or fiqad, we file it. Our Amharic and Tigrinya pages explain IFTA, Form 2290, DQ files and audits in your language.

How much does DOT compliance cost per truck?

SELAM's DOT compliance bundle is $50 per truck per month with a $0 setup fee. It includes driver qualification files, drug & alcohol consortium enrollment, IFTA quarterly filing, Form 2290, CSA monitoring, MCS-150 and UCR reminders, DataQ support and audit protection. Fleets of 6–10 trucks pay $47 and 11–20 trucks pay $45 per truck.

When are IFTA quarterly returns due?

IFTA returns are due four times a year: April 30 (Q1), July 31 (Q2), October 31 (Q3) and January 31 (Q4). SELAM prepares and files every quarter from your fuel receipts and mileage so you never pay a late penalty.

When is Form 2290 due?

Form 2290 (Heavy Vehicle Use Tax) is due August 31 each year for trucks in service in July; a truck first used later in the year is due by the last day of the month after its first use. SELAM files it and delivers your stamped Schedule 1 the same day.

Do I still need an MC number to start a trucking company?

FMCSA began retiring separate MC numbers on October 1, 2025; new carriers now operate under a single USDOT number with operating authority attached. SELAM handles USDOT registration, operating authority, BOC-3 and UCR for new Ethiopian- and Eritrean-owned trucking companies.
